FUNKY GONG
Funky Gong的本名為Minoru Tsunoda（角田 實)。
自80年代開始他以歌手和吉他手的身分在日本許多獨立搖滾樂隊中展露頭角。1998年開始,他受到日本天皇級電氣搖滾單位 JOUJOUKA主腦/日本傳奇DJ Tsuyoshi Suzuki的邀請下加入成為該樂團的吉他手以及DJ。
他也和 Tsuyoshi在許多例如Fuji Rock,Vsion Quest等日本大型派對上進行演出，他發揮了驚人並純熟的技術與表現並連續2年受到巴厘島跨年派對的邀請下與美國Dim Mak首腦Steve Aoki共同演出。
作為一個音樂創作者，他創新並不斷發展新的個人風格。自2004年起，他開始將他的吉他Solo演奏加入在他的DJ現場演出之中，並試圖探索新的音樂領域結合在屬於他的個人音樂風格裡。他的表演也受到日本各地的俱樂部和歐洲各方的定期邀請。在日本。他不斷忙於為Joujouka的專輯與為自己的單曲製作與許多Remix混音。2004他在Tsuyoshi的獨立廠牌MAD SKIPPERS下於全球發表TAKE IT TO THE FIRE 單曲。
08年The Beat Magazine雜誌舉辦的The Beat Awards 2008"得到Best International DJ Performance的諸榮,2007年他於Madskipper下發表的BURNING單曲受到日本Electro Rock/Indie Dance樂界的強烈關注。
2009年他所參與的JOUJOUKA樂隊也得到權威票選 AVIMA 2009的”BEST DANCE ACT”2009年Funky Gong的第三張單曲Freight Train讓他受到海外更多的關注與眾多表演邀約。
Funky Gong目前正在積極製作自己的首張專輯大碟.全日本電氣搖滾與獨立跳舞圈都在熱切的期待中!!!
Funky Gong is Minoru Tsunoda. Since the 80's he was the vocalist and guitarist of an alternative rock band which lead him to becoming the guitarist in an electro-rock unit JOUJOUKA with DJ Tsuyoshi in 1998. Around the same time he was also djing and has played at every big event going including Fuji Rock and he has also played amazing sets for 2 years running on Bali Island at New Years Eve parties. As an artist he is innovative and constantly evolving. Since around 2004 he began incorporating his guitar playing in his DJ sets and tries to explore new musical territory in real time. People love him and his funky electro sound in the clubs and parties here in Japan. He is constantly busy with making tracks and doing remixes for his own solo project as well as for projects with Joujouka. He released one of his solo tracks TAKE IT TO THE FIRE, worldwide on the Tsuyoshi's local MAD SKIPPERS label in 2004 under the artist name Minoru. In 2007 he released BURNING feat. Ninjarette under the name Funky Gong with other releases and a solo album in the pipeline. He is one to watch.
80年代より、オルタナティブロックバンドでヴォーカル兼ギタリストとして活躍。 1998年、DJ TSUYOSHIとのエレクトロ・ユニット"JOUJOUKA"にギタリストとして加入。 この頃と同時期にDJとしてのキャリアもスタート、FUJI ROCK FESをはじめとする国内大型FESやPARTYに数多く出演。近年では３年連続バリでのニューイヤーパーティー出演など海外でのDJプレイも精力的に行 う。08年には、インドネシアのCLUB系雑誌"The Beat Magazin"にて"The Beat Awards 2008"のBest International DJ Performanceにノミネートされ、09年アジアを中心とした音楽アワードAVIMA2009でJOUJOUKAがBEST DANCE ACTを受賞し高い評価を得る。
04年からGUITARとDJを同時に演奏する前衛的なスタイルに挑戦するなど、その表現は従来のDJの枠を遥かに飛び越え、TECHNO/ELECTRO系のクラバーやARTIST、ROCK系ミュージシャンはじめとした幅広い層の支持を集めている また、近年JOUJOUKAや自身のソロプロジェクトでのトラックメイキングやリミックス・ワークも積極的に行っており、04年にはMINORU名義で『TAKE IT TO THE FIRE』(MAD SKIPPERS)を海外リリース。0９年にはFUNKY GONG名義で『Freight Train (Feat. Marcellus Nealy)(MAD SKIPPERS)をリリースするなどその活動を更に加速させている。 現在FUNKY GONG名義でのフルアルバムを製作中、今後の活動に注目が集まる。
